Our Services

  • For children, teens, and young adults with frequent or chronic headache or migraine, headache-focused CBT can help individuals reduce potential triggers, manage symptoms, and keep up with school, sports, and family and friends time.

  • Chronic pain conditions such as AMPS, CRPS, JIA, and more can interfere with all parts of a child’s life, and be stressful to the whole family. Psychological and behavioral strategies can help your child manage pain and fatigue, and get on their way to achieving their goals and living their fullest life.

  • For individuals with digestive distress or conditions such as IBS and IBD. Symptoms including abdominal pain, nausea, bloating, reflux, constipation, diarrhea, and overall discomfort can significantly affect your child’s life. Psychological and behavioral strategies can be an important part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

  • For athletes who have found that injuries or anxiety are interfering with return to play and performance. Behavioral and psychological strategies can help student-athletes return to sport, optimize performance and recovery, and rediscover their motivation and joy with sports.

  • Anxiety, worries, and stress can mess with school performance, focus, sleep, relationships, and more. Learn to understand how stress works, and create a customized set of coping skills to prevent stress and handle it better when it comes up.

What do we do?

Pain and behavioral health concerns are often poorly understood and under-recognized. So thank you for being here and seeking the best care for your child.

Pediatric Pain and Behavioral Health is a one-of-a-kind program in the State of Michigan, providing unique expertise in pain and behavioral health for children, teens, and young adults, that is often not accessible outside of a large, complex, and bogged-down hospital system. Both in-person and video visits are offered.

Pediatric Pain and Behavioral Health, PLLC, may be a good fit for your child and family if your child is experiencing any of the following:

  • Frequent headache or pain anywhere in their body

  • Pain, fatigue, or other symptoms are making life more challenging

  • Struggling with focus or to keep up with school

  • Struggling to participate in social activities or just feel like themselves

  • Increased stress, anxiety, or mood concerns

  • Someone is telling your child to “manage their stress” as part of their healthcare or recovery, and you are all struggling to figure out why and how this even might help

  • Your usual solutions are not working anymore, and you and your child are looking for ways to get back on track

At Pediatric Pain and Behavioral Health, PLLC, treatment is always personalized to your child’s needs while grounded in the most up-to-date scientific evidence. Psychological and behavioral strategies, typically based in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), focus on helping children, teenagers, and young adults learn coping skills to effectively manage their symptoms and regain their functioning in their daily lives.

Ages treated: Children and teens ages 2-18, and some young adults 18-22.
